Questions Answered.

1) How long till I receive my results?
Most results are available in 1-4 business days. If you order a person search service on the weekend you should receive your results by Thursday. Results are available in a number of days starting on Monday (if you ordered on the weekend). Other searches services may take longer. You should receive an auto reply after you submitted your order. This email will show you how long each search service takes.

2) What information do I need to be able to find a person?
In most cases we can search with just a name. We recommend that you provide as much possible information on the missing person that you can. If the people search you ordered only requires a name, try to provide places to search in approx age or other information to increase your success rate. If the person you are searching has an uncommon name, it helps your success rate. The bare minimum that we require is you must have a full name (first and last). In most cases we can usually find a person with just a name.

3) How do I receive my results?
After we process your order and your credit card is approved, a detective will begin the search process. When your order is completed, we will send the results of your search to the email address that you provided on the order form.

4) Why do you not offer credit checks?
All credit check services are offered only with a court order. You can receive a copy of your own credit file by contacting the credit bureaus. It is against the law to order a copy of another parties credit report unless required by law or a court order.

5) What about bank and financial searches?
We offer many financial and asset search services. These searches can only be ordered with a court order or official business that has a right to access these types of people search services.

6) Can I run a search on myself?
Yes, you are able to run a complete search on yourself. We recommend doing this every so many months to make sure you are not a victim of identity theft. If you would like to run a search on yourself you may select any search services available on this site. We recommend the advanced or ultimate person search.

7) Will the person I am searching know that he/ she was searched?
No, there is no way the person will know that they have been searched unless you tell them.

8) I do not have a credit card. What are my options?
You can order any person search, telephone search, or other search service from this web site with a check or money order. You may want to print the order form out and mail it to our business address. If you do not have a printer please write or type your name, address, email address, telephone number, and the requirements of the person search service you would like to order. 9) If my credit card is declined can I try another card?
Yes you can try another credit card as long as it is your card or you have permission to use another credit card. We will trace and investigate any credit card fraud.

Yes, searching public records and databases is legal. Lostpeople does not perform searches on celebrities, public figures, persons living outside the United States, persons under the age of 18, or searches on behalf of persons under the age of 18.

12) Is it ok for me to contact the person after he/ she was located?
Yes, it is fine to contact someone that you searched. As long as they do not have a problem with you contacting them. You may not harass or cause any harm to anyone that you searched.

13) If I do not want to be searched what do I do?
If you would like to opt out your information from being searched please send a letter to us with the following information: your name, address, social security number, and date of birth. Also send a check or money order in the amount of $20.00 for researching your records. We will then opt you out of all databases we search.

14) Is my information safe?
Yes, all information relating to you and the subject is safe and secure with 24/7 security.

15) Is my credit card information safe?
Yes, your credit card as well as your personal information is safe with security 24/7.

16) How are your orders processed online or offline?
All orders are processed offline for security reasons. Humans are much better than computers :)

17) Does peoplefinders sell my information?
We never resell any information to anyone.

Yes, you will receive only one email after each time that you ordered a person search. We do not send any other email with specials or services (junk mail).
